This year Christian Aid Week focusses on the climate emergency which is one of the greatest injustices we face. This hurts us all but people living in poverty fight the worst of it every day. From drought to flooding, climate change robs people of control over their lives. Extreme weather means people like Rose are struggling to survive without a reliable source of water.
As Anglicans we are reminded of the the fifth mark of mission which reads;
“To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and to sustain the life of the earth”
But this is inextricably bound up with all the marks of mission which can be found here; https://www.anglicancommunion.org/mission/marks-of-mission.aspx
On Sunday 16th May our Service at St Andrews will be a Service of the Word for Christian Aid Week at 11am. We will be holding a Church Collection for Christian Aid but you can also donate directly to Christain Aid online here;
Please remember that every envelope, every gift, however small, can change lives.
